KARACHI: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced a significant gas condensate discovery at the Baloch-2 well in District Sanghar, Sindh.

In a stock exchange filing on Friday, OGDCL reported that the discovery was made in the Sinjhoro Block, where OGDCL holds a 76% operating interest, alongside joint venture partners Orient Petroleum (19%) and Government Holdings Private Limited (5%). The gas condensate was found in the Sember Formation within the Baloch Development and Production Lease, under the Sinjhoro Exploration License.

The Baloch-2 well, spudded on February 24, was drilled to a total depth of 3,920 meters TVD (true vertical depth) as part of an exploratory initiative by OGDCL, with technical support from its joint venture partners. Wireline log interpretations and a drill stem test-3 in the Sember Formation revealed a flow rate of 6.8 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas and 388 barrels of condensate per day through a 32/64” choke, with a wellhead flowing pressure of 2,180 pounds per square inch.
